Older JD hay rake. What did I just buy?

I just bought this older John Deere rake from a local for $200. It's easy enough to set up and use, as far as lever operated equipment goes, and everything works great! I'd just like to know more about it. I can tell it's obviously an older design, but any identification has worn or faded away years ago. Anyone out there familiar with faded green relics?

Initial research indicates it may be a No. 594-LW (Low-Wheel Rake). I'm still searching for other possibilities.
