The Ym1700 would be a 2 cyl engine. When it has a 02, like 1702 it is a 3 cyl engine. The D stands for 4 wheel drive. A 1710 is a power shift, and a 1720 is a power shift with the shift lever on the steering column. Both of them, the 10 and the 20 are also 3 cyl. And the difference between the 17XX and the 18XX is 1 hp at the PTO, the 1700 being 17 hp at the PTO and the 1800 being 18hp at the PTO. the 1700 would be right at 20 HP and the 1800 21 HP.

The 18xx series has a larger engine than the 17xx series. The YM1810 is smaller framed than the YM1820, but larger than the YM17xx
