Junkman,

Your points are well taken, but...

Isn't it amazing though, how two dealers can be selling something for about the same price, but one just by his attitude will cause you to cheerfully give your money to his competition?

Happened to me too...dealer attitude drove me to the other guy. As well as to a different color. I have blue a mile up the road, but after leaving that dealer with a bad feeling in my gut two or three times, I went 20 miles for orange. And one of the two orange dealers was no better than the blue one up the road is... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I never even talked price with the two dealers who turned me off...

Regarding the cost of that snow blower: my newly purchased B2660 blower (the 60 is the cleared path in inches) was $2600 +6% tax (and that included the mounting kit). The price from that dealer IMHO is high.

I have said it before..... a dealer is like your wife.... if you don't get along, you shouldn't buy from him. You have to like the person you are dealing with also, because there is more that the exchange of money in this interaction. Remember the old expression, sleep with dogs, get up with fleas? How many of us love our dogs enough to allow them on the bed? If the dealer is good to us, we will over look some things, pay a little more, even purchase a color that we might not ordinarily even consider. Buying a tractor is almost like getting married, and in some instances you might have the tractor for a longer period of time. Sometimes it is easier to get rid of the wife than to get rid of the tractor. Some here might love the tractor more than the wife. Enough said about wives... lets talk tractors & dogs... less aggravating. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you are anywhere near Plymouth NH I would try Hawkensen Equipment They sell both Kubota and JD. I have purchased L3000 with BH FEL PHD and JD rotary cutter, also Fisher plow for truck over the last 2 years. Great people to deal with and service dept. is outstanding. Steve Huss owner, Custer Reed Sales Manager You won't go wrong with either

Wescotts is a pretty good dealer. Family owned and operated, sometime that is a positive.

You are very young?..... you are married for only a couple of months??....... the tractor is a wedding gift to the wife??? Why /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I prefer to think of it as "I know what I want when I see it". Since we have been married going on 24 years I guess it paid off! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif As for the tractor, well I bought that before I knew about this place. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif All I knew was Kubota made a great 4WD tractor so I went and bought one. Can't say I've regretted this decision yet either! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well.. You saved me some time.

I checked out the dealer you mentioned in the first post. At the time, I was looking for a small lawn and garden tractor. They didn't have any of the line on the lot to look at.

They did tell me about a used one they had (which coincidentally 6 months later I see STILL advertised that they have)

They told me it was "way down back" and buried under snow. Seemed to me like I was supposed to buy it before they would go find it and dig it out.

I thought they didn't wan to mess with little stuff.

I will go take a look when I start shopping. I think I've got the 70 acres purchased. Gotta let the checkbook recover.

I don't know if there are a lot of other orange dealers around here. I like the folks at Watermans. But that's the 'wrong' color.

I don't mind paying good money if I like the people. BUT.. that only goes so far.
