I have decided on the 3130 HST, R4's and LA513 fel. I want to pull a 84' finishing mower and a 6' rotary cutter. I have 13 acres on flat ground. I plan to mow 6 acres with the finishing mower every week or as needed. The rotary cutter will only be used 5-6 times a year on the rest of the acres to keep the grass and weeds cut down. One dealer said I was pushing it with the 3130 and the other dealer said I would have no problem with those size impliments. My one last question then, has anyone used those size impliments and if so, can the 3130 handle them?

Both dealers are right! It's all in how often you mow. If you mow like you said, you'll be ok.

Like Billy said, depends on how often and how hard you're gonna work them. Now, my question. If I remember right from school many many years ago, " meant inches and ' meant feet. With that in mind, do you have a 6 inch rotary cutter or an 84 foot finish mower?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh, and welcome aboard. Also doubt if it'll be the last question. People here are to knowledgable to limit yourself like that.

If you finish mow “as needed”, I don’t think you’ll have any problem with a 7’ finish unit… but as soon as you slack off…??? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Remember, you only have 24 PTO hp available… higher grass or thicker woody products will suck up that HP rather quickly and start bogging ya down…

Now, the 6’ rotary cutter is really pushing it with 24 PTO hp… grass or no grass… how about a compromise…? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

...Go with a standard duty 5’ rotary cutter and you can “buzz” right along @ ~~ 5mph cutting those other 7 “field” acres (~2 ½ a/h)… versus having an oversized 6’ rotary hanging off the back, most of the time (being Less productive) struggling along @ ~~ 1 ½ to 3 mph (~1 ½ a/h) trying to maintain a steady 2700 rpm on that Kubota engine… /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

(and the 5' is far cheaper!)
