jd 1050 LS I3040H. CASE SC farmall Super M
Pickup up I think the last I3040H locally. Went in to buy a S3010 and decided the gear ratios were not compatible with some of the work we had been doing with my Dad's JD 1050. The more I looked at all the other blue, orange, white, green the better the LS looked to me. Talked myself up to the 3040 hydro. So far it is absolutely great!!!!

Congrats on the new tractor. The more people consider features and value the quicker LS will grow. The only real unknown right now is support. Individual dealer support is always gonna depend on the dealer no matter which brand but support from LS is where the question is. Not enough to know yet. I'm gettin my r4047 fixed pretty quick but I think there is another who has been waiting a month on a part coming in. Hopefully we will her more good experiences but so far there has been very few problems at all reported here on TBN.

Congrats and smart move! You'll be glad you did. I'm getting my R3039 delivered tomorrow and I can't wait to hook up the old brush hog and cut my pastures for the first time this year. Enjoy!

Welcome to the LS forum vwnotrunning,

Does that blue Super Beetle looking thing in the picture have anything to do with your handle?

VW, That is a good looking tractor. It is the model I wanted, but the dealer could not get one so I ended up with the R3039. Is that a receiver hitch on the bucket? Did the dealer put it on? Congrats and be careful with your tractor. There is a learning curve and there is a wealth of info on these forums.
Cheers!

Yes the corner of the convertible you see is the running one at the moment. Several years ago my wife wanted to get an old beetle to put around in. We bought a 71' hardtop. New motor and front disc brakes, then took it apart to get it ready to paint (still apart). We bought the 75 convertible to have a running vehicle to put around and visit the VW shows.

One plus on the learning curve. I put a Rhino loader and 3pt back on my Dad's JD, but decided the 8 + 2 (have to be stopped completely to shift) transmission was too much of a pain to do a lot of loader work. Sure made my dad happy though!

I need to level a pad for my 40 x 60 metal building so that I have someplace to work on the VW, reloading room, workshop and now tractor storage.

I had a '73 SB until about 4-5 years ago. It was my daily driver until I almost got hit in it. Decided then and there that it wasn't the car to be in with all the trucks & SUVs on the freeways in Houston. I did love it though and hated to let it go after buying a new Subaru, but had to due to limited parking space. Fun little cars to drive and easy to work on. Good luck with getting the '71 back together.
