My wife won't help in the garden unless, I raise the garden to a 4' level. That takes out my tractor, one bottom plow, rotatiller and other tools. I'm planning 4' raised block beds, under UV material. With grommets, rings and cable runs for support. It's all going in a 1/2 acre, while sharing the area with a small ramada solar farm 30' x 37'. The remaining area not used will be full sun, for things like corn and other full sun vegetables. I'm not thinking any vegetables would work under the 9' solar platform.

My question: Is there a one row planter that may work for small gardens, easy to plant 2 or more rows in a garden, like the 1/3 acre size. I'm not doing any truck farm stuff, just relatives and kids families more in the suburban area. You might get an idea of the area I'm talking about in the solar panel pictures. The area is irrigated, fills the 1/2 acre with 3 to 4" of water, every two weeks in summer, once a week in winter, the water is free. I live I think, in a very cool place in the Phoenix, Ariz. area.

Thank You, bp flick... Wow 5,000 posts! Your the man!

I had a stroke in 2004. It took my left side out. I've learned to hobble at 67 - 30 yards maybe my walking limit. I know I can't push a wheel barrel with one arm.

I had steps added to the New Holland TC33DA. I drive it with one arm, one leg. Know one would know without watching very close. Owned and operated CUT's for 40 years. I've got quick hitch, tip and tilt and hydrostat, makes things easier.

To get to the point: I'd get it in a second if I could use quick hitch. I'm not saying it's totally out of the question. I'm starting to watch You Tube videos on this thing. Maybe I can get my wife to push it.

Im looking at a Jang for my smaller seeds for my farm. Theey make a 1,3,6 row rig. im looking at the 3 row. THey make a special attachment to put it to a hitch. i want one to belly mount on my Farmall cub for planting carrots and beets. THey make some larger 3 oint only rigs to. Now I use a Covington 1 row planter on 3 acres. I plant corn, beans, peas, squash, zuccini, pumpkins, okra, gourds, sunflower and even cotton with it.

The Jang does all the tiny seeds like Brasiccas.

Vern,

If you can't push it and the wife won't, it may be best to have a simple bracket made up at a local fab shop to mount it to your 3-point. They could even modify something like the TSC Carry-All so that there's minimal work, but you may need to then add a gauge wheel so the full weight of the 3-point and carry-all was not put on the planter.

It should work very well for you on the 3-point, there are no "adjustments" really once it's set up, and it's ground driven so you can just lift it off the ground and it stops seeding.

As bp said, the Earthway seems to be the go-to basic seeder and the price can't be beat.
