Price Check Online discounted JD parts???

Embarassing to admit that I was using the 430 FEL on my trusty 4400HST and overloaded the bucket and one of the limbs that I was transporting fell over backwards onto the hood and went through the hood (yeh -- pretty dumb stunt). I need a new hood and after 10 years, have not had a reason to need any parts for that tractor but am used to ordering discounted parts for vehicles online. Hope I am not out of line asking this question but with this economy, money is tight and I suspect a new hood is not going to be cheap.

Thoughts--suggestions??

The hoods for the 4xxx series Deere CUTs are frequently on eBaY. Prices I've seen were about $300 for the bare hood. You'll have to use the hinges, hood release, etc off your old hood.
What I don't know is if these are actually Deere manufacture or an aftermarket knockoff.

I wish there was an aftermarket hood, Roy. Those JD hoods on Ebay are
from dealers. I have been watching for a used one for a long time.

I have to buy another for my 2001 4300, and I paid $240, plus shipping
for my last one. You can double that for all the foam pads, latches, hinges,
etc, as you say. Also the new labels are about $35, but that's "optional".

I bought a bunch of parts at once, so shipping was for one big order, and
I used truck freight. I was Very concerned about the Brown Boys bringing
my hood intact.....hence the truck freight.

The GreenDealer (Arends Bros) in Illinois gets my recommendation.
