It's actually better to put it as an attachment, as you did in this post, rather than putting it in the text. I don't know what kind of Internet service you have, but some of our members still have dial-up service, so, in my opinion, it's much more courteous to let them decide whether they want to see the picture instead of it taking more time to load whether they want to see it or not.

Hey, Bird!
Can you give me a tip on setting up an avitar?
I have the pic in photobucket, but all i get is error messages when I past the url.
Whats the secret?
Thanks!

Harry, I'm not sure just what you've tried, so I'm not sure what to tell you. Apparently you know to go to "My Home" and then click on "Edit Avatar" in the column on the left. Then if you're copying a url and then pasting it, did you first delete the start of a url that's already in that space? If not, you have a double http, and that won't work. And then what is the size of the photo you're trying to use. I guess you noticed that it has to be 120 x120 pixels or 19.5 KB or it won't work.

And if that doesn't do it . . . well, I'm a bit of a computer dummy myself, but we have a bunch of members who know what they're doing around computers and one of them will probably guide you better than I can.

That is how i do it as well, but it only comes up as a full size picture.

Are you just trying to resize the picture? If that is the case you'll have to do that before you upload it. I use a free program called Irfanview. It is simple to use and can be had for free at all the popular download sites. With that program or another similar one you can make the picture any size you choose.
