Still waiting for someone to make decent noise cancelling cans WITH bluetooth. Borrowed some older QC3's and was impressed with ability to drown out engine noise and still here music with good bass. Couldn't deal with the cable though, I'm sure it would get snagged on something sooner or later getting on & off the machine.
Not found anything with BT that has similar noise cancelling performance as Bose. Can't fathom why Bose don't do BT & NC

Yeah, I don't know why this is an under-served market. You'd think every lawn jockey with an iphone would be all over them.

Ended up ordering the Jensen JHD910BT on Sunday night. I saw the non-BT version at the dealer when I got my skidding winch and was impressed with how it looked and it's size. It should be here by the weekend if they actually sent it yesterday, but it's not showing up in USPS' tracking system and supposedly went out yesterday. The main reason I went with it was the weatherband radio. I've been in la-la land working and not had any idea we had severe weather coming before. My phone alerts so much stuff with weatherbug that I have those alerts turned off.

Something that might have promise is the V-Moda line of headphones with replaceable side panels and mini phono jacks on the phones themselves. You can add a BT receiver and not really mess with the phones if the device goes to crap on you. They also have a nice warranty - you can destroy them and your next pair will be 50% off.

So I got the HD radio today and the first thing I noticed after pairing it to my phone was that my phone wasn't playing back through the Jensen. Some moron at Jensen forgot to make it playback through the device. :banghead:

Now the question remains, do I keep this, add an amplifier (it needs one), and a BT dongle so I can use my phone wireless through the aux inputs (there's two of them, which is kinda nice); or do I send it back?

Ended up scoring a closeout Polk PA330 75wx2 amp for $45 at Best Buy (new in box) and built some enclosures out of ammo cans for a pair of JBL GTO428's per side. I'm still going to use the Jensen HD head unit and will probably put a BT dongle on it. I do like that it has the weatherband feature, so that's the main reason I'm keeping it, that and I don't really like anything else that's out there in the weatherproof offerings. It fits nicely in front of my MFWD lever behind the range selector lever too, so there's that aspect as well. Just need to make a bracket for the radio to mount to and all the components will be ready to be installed.

Headphones is an option, but they're hard to use with my forestry brain bucket (I've stuck some speakers in those muffs too, but they don't stay put well, and the cord still snags). My cordless set is good for about 8 hours, but was $200 and not something I'm willing to chop up and integrate into the muffs.

I can use the stereo on the tractor while not wearing anything - that's a plus. Yes, I should be wearing ear-pro more often than I do.

When I wear my earbud headphones it helps cut down on the diesel drone, but I still catch the cord on everything, even tucking it in my shirt.

Did you read http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/customization/323616-music-wireless-headsets-ipods-what-2.html or any of the other about dozen threads I've seen here since 2009?

I've been wearing earbud headphones since about '84 stuck into shooting muffs. Shorten the cord, rubber band or velcro it on top.

Jim, here is my system...

Amazon.com: 3M Peltor Listen-Only Headset, MP3 and 2-Way Radio Compatible: Home Improvement

Of course there are various versions of this but I was looking for the ones I could plug in.

I then velcroed this to the side of the headset.

Britelink Bluetooth Audio Receiver: Portable, Bluetooth Music Receiver with Stereo Output (3.5 mm)f - Rakuten.com

I have found these for less (like around $15) but it was what came up in my first google search. Works pretty good. in reality, thought, while the noise is cancelled out the headphones powered this way are not as loud music wise as I would like.

Hope this helps a bit in your search.
Good adaptation, like the velcro.

Cord under shirt and phone in pocket leaves cord dangling at belt line and that's where it's getting snagged for me.

My RE Audio amp should arrive Tuesday.

I don't do Apple anything. They were the first to jump at the chance to give up your data to the feds. I know the gov't is going to get my data, but I'd like to think my service providers will at least make them work for it a little.

You seem to be going for deafness. Either your tractor is VERY quiet or you are blasting a lot of decibels.

However I have found a distinct problem with the Sony SBH50
shopping

It is so darn small I lost it for about 3 months.
Batteries last for MANY hours of music and it has an FM tuner.
Plus it easily tucks into the muffs on my "forestry brain bucket helmet", my shooting muffs, or no muffs at all. And as I wrote it's easy to strap it to the muffs.

If I have to listen to broadcast radio a single minute again in my life, it'll be too much. As I mentioned, I only want the weatherband part of the Jensen tuner.
