I would like to build and install wooden open top culverts to divert road surface water away from my driveway. Does anyone have instructions on how to build them? Also, how well do they hold up?

Steve, go to the site listed below. Figure 14 might be what you are looking for. I've seen the box drains in Idaho and Wahington State National Forest land. They seemed to work well and were not too bad driving over them in the road. They were probably made of cedar 2 by lumber out West, but treated lumber should hold up for a long time.
