Have had one 1400' away on a battery with a small solar panel since 2008 works at the house (line of sight) and only trouble I've had is 1 new battery and spraying some wasps nests.

We don't plow irrigation in Texas, we trench it. You would have a very hard time even finding a vibratory plow to rent here. Lots of reasons for that, from very rocky soil in much of the state to it's just the way it's always been done.

I used a tool like this a lot to install just wire or a single pipe. You'll get a workout but it's less work than trenching it and the cleanup is a lot easier.
