Charolais ,which dealer do you use, sounds like a good one.My 300DTC is on 200 hrs and is a great machine, couldn't be happier.

Ratliff Service center South Boston va. Bought my first tractor from him in 97. He beat every dealers prices for 200 miles. Since that day I bought a rotary cutter, Long loader for a 574 IH tractor, Vicon spreader, a hay tedder and the Farmtrac 80 with loader. I haven't found anyone that would beat his prices. He saved me more $900 on that spreader from what the only name brand tractor and equipment we have in the county. And he wasn't a Vicon dealer but became one when I ask him to find one for me. Mr. Ratliff likes to move equipment. I'm sure he doesn't make as much on each unit but he moves the units. Good straight talking man. One I trust.

You know a shuttle is a type of gear vs a hydrostatic. I have a 270DTC and bought it over a NH one reason is the shuttle over the straight gear trans. I was out at my wifes uncle's place last year and he has a chinese tractor with a regular gear trans. That confirmed how much I love the shuttle.

As far as FarmTrac goes I think they are a good company. I broke a sway chain and they replaced both with beefier ones at no charge. After three years of living outside I noticed two hoses that make some tight bends going to the FEL are cracking. I am not sure if that is normal or not but they do need replacing soon. I love my little tractor, it will do more and pull more than most people on this forum say a 27hp tractor should do.

Purchased Farmtrac 60 with a 5320 loader in summer of 2003. Have over 300 hours on the tractor. Change oil and lube according to manual.

Replaced left steering arm. I run in very rough terrain with lots of stumps while using my loader. Never had a failure just a lot of steering slop in left front wheel.

- part cost less than 50 dollars and was delivered overnight.

Nut came loose in power steering pump.

- dealer provided technical drawings which allowed a quick and easy repair

Neutral safety switch inop
- bypassed

Alternator exciter inop
- manually excite alternator after starting engine

Damaged left turn signal/emergency flasher by running into branches in the woods. Moved the turn signals to the inside of ROPS.

Punched a hole in my grill screen while bushogging. Changed my technique. I now back into brush versus driving over it. Have used this technique for about the last hundred hours no problems.

Attached is a picture of my tractor.

The 665 has the 3 cyl., 201 cid Escorts built engine. It's the same engine that saw life in the Ford 46x0 series. Escorts bought all rights to the Ford designs when Fiat divested the Ford tractor operation in India, after the completion of Fiat's purchase of FOrd New Holland. 60 engine HP and 52 PTO HP. About the only real difference is use of an Indian manufactured fuel system, which is considerably different than that used by Ford.
