It’s a John Deere 5400N, 4x4, cab, loader, 4,279 hours.
The tractor has been sitting in the shop for almost 20 years. Prior to that it had rolled over a couple of times and did a little bit of damage to the cab, and the center section of the rear rims were bent. They got it running and drove it into the shop where it still sits. (Sad story, the family of four have all passed since then) A friend of the family has asked me to help with the sale of this tractor.
The rims should be replaced but the cab damages are superficial. It was a running, working tractor that rolled down a hill (owners son was hospitalized with injuries) They had it running and driving after the accident.
But…
There’s no history or knowledge about this machine. So for a potential buyer it’s unfortunately a bit of a crap shoot. Question. How does a person put a value on it? Heirs wish to sell… of course there are untold variables that come into play, we’re not expecting this to be cast in stone.
Thanks for your input
