I am looking for opinions on the L-5240 with the LA854 FEL. If anyone has an HSTC model any pros or cons that you I would like to hear about them.

I have the L-5740 with the same FEL and a 4 way bucket. I have been lifting entire trees with it, and absolutely love the tactor and the loader.

I have 70 hours on my L4740 HSTC, and overall I couldn't be more pleased. As noted in one of my earlier posts, the LA854 loader struggles to lift a full ton of feed on pallet forks (where the center of the load is farther out front than with the bucket), but the helpful folks in this forum have pointed out that it's most likely a simple case (and solution) of the relief valve being set too low.

I wouldn't trade the HST, the 4wd or cab for anything out there! Go for it - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
