Ordering a tractor tomorrow. Please help!

This must vary from dealer to dealer. I bought my TC35D at one dealer and (once I learned he was closer) have consistently brought my tractor to a second dealer for the 2 times it required warrenty work. The second time they replaced some body work because I (like a dummy) had tried to torque them down too much (on their nickel and out of warranty). They also did not charge any transportation fees. I have no doubt that they have given me as good as service as my original dealer (who by the way is not a bad guy just further away). They have treated me right every time and generally exceeded my expectations. Needless to say I buy all parts and such there now.

Well I ordered the Kubota this morning. It will be done in less than a week. I got the L3130, loader wt 72 heavy duty bucket and rep. edge, Balast and the nine foot backhoe.

It sold me with the free road side service. They will send a guy right out to me!

They have a very large service department and they were very nice.
Thanks everyone for your input. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They don't actually lose money on warranty work, but when they don't already have the paperwork on hand [i.e. purhcased there] they can spend as much time on paperwork as the actual repair.....

I would think with any of the major CUT brands all of the information for a tractor is available on-line by serial number including date sold, selling dealer and buyer's name and address.

Every brand is different but in general a dealer "loses" money on warranty work because the hours allocated may be less than actual time, compensated labor rates may be less than current shop rate, the dealer makes no profit on parts and payment may be slow in coming.

Much has been written on this site about avoiding sales tax. Be careful. Just because the out-of-state dealer does not charge you sales tax does not mean you won't have your state's tax department come after YOU for the tax owed. As the buyer, YOU are responsible for paying the tax.
