I have a new 2520 on order and have been considering getting an Original Cab for it. I only want to use the cab in the winter months when snowblowing. How convenient or inconvenient is it to remove or install it seasonally? How about breaking it down for storage? Thanks for any info.

Just ordered the same and ordered that cab as well... will be watching this post closely as I am curious as to what I'm getting into! The common thing around here is to send it to the dealer to handle every year, but I will not be doing that, surely it can't be that difficult ;)

I have a curtis cab on my JD455 and for summer I remove the two doors and back window.(all 3 are soft) I found it too cumbersome to remove the whole cab...it is very flimsy when unattached and even with two people it is difficult to move around safely and keep it from being damaged. (but not impossible)...Also the roof will keep you dry if it rains and more important out of the sun. Hope this helps...it works for me.

This cab is appx 5-6 yrs old . I take doors off, back and front curtains off and remove the window. I've done this for the past 3-4 yrs..
At first I removed the frame except for mounting on dash ,but having heater, with wiring for wiper and extra lights on frame been leaving it all connected.

Take off the doors and front/back, but leave the roof. It makes a nice sunshade on our BX2660.

I have a 2320 with a hard side Cutis cap which I installed in the fall. Like others, I have a heater and lights (electrical wires) that would all need to be disconnected. Right now I am planning to remove the doors, which is very easy. Maybe I will get some electrical connectors/plus and fluid quick disconnects.

The guy across the street has a smaller JD garden tractor. He has a hoist in his garage which he uses to lift his cab after unbolting it. He wants it off to lower the center of gravity which is a concern with the hills in his yard.

I have a JD 445 with a curtis soft side cab and I take the cab offf or the summer. I use quick couplers for the heater hose and it works great. I hang it in my machine shed from the rafters with a cable winch on the botttom to do the lifting.

Thanks for the replys guys. I really like the idea of hanging it up. I have a pole bldg and can certainly do that. Just bought an old boat trailer I found laying around that I want to make a utility wagon out of. Maybe the boat winch on it will work for that.

Hey johnamon, I have a camp in Kent, NY and fish out of Oak Orchard in the summer.
