Hi there. In doing a small building I boght some 'OSB' its been several years since I have bought this, and opted to get it from Lowes.I assume that its the same as Home Depot. Anyways ,this stuff isnt like I am used to. the 'older' stuff had a snooth side that was almost a waxed side, and the chips looked to be 'locked' together better this this stuff.I believe it will work well for m application, As I am 16 CC.Its rated to go 24 CC but I think thats pushing the limits.
So did they change the formular? Remember how slippery it was before.I hated that but it jus felt 'sturdier'
thanks

Different suppliers, the OSB you bought before was probably LP(Louisiana Pacific) with an Orange edge on the sheet judging by the description.

Its ok for walls, but I would never use it on a floor or roof, its way overpriced for what it is.

I just reroofed a garage, paid $1.90 more per sheet , for plywood.

I agree.....never on a roof. Seen WAY too much of that stuff "dip" as it ages. I like 5/8" plywood for a roof. You wouldn't think that extra 1/8" makes that much difference, but it sure does. My own roof, I used 7/8", on 24"centers. No give to that boy.

Wow I don't know where you got plywood for only $1.90 more. Here CDX is the cheapest you can find and it is still $10.00 more than the same thickness of OSB

Menards had 1/2 "4 ply on sale, I wish I had bought a pallet of it.

I agree. as both Lowes and Home depot here get 22 a sheet as opposed to the 9.55 (OSB) What i got a kick out of was 2x6x8 to get the pressure treated was only 53 cents more than the KD ones. The Pressure treated are way more stronger than the KD ones for that price.

I just checked Menards web 1/2" cdx 3 ply is $16.47 and 1/2" 4ply is $17.47 OSB is $15.23. The funny thing is 7/16 OSB is under $10.
