A couple of weeks ago I got a call from a sales girl at the dealership I got my truck from in Jan. 2012 saying they are looking for trades if I might be interested. I thought what the heck I'll see what they say. Went in 2 Saturdays ago not really expecting much and certainly not intending to buy a new truck but before they would tell me a trade price, they said to find a truck I liked. I looked at a bunch, had 4 in the running and the girl said lets start with that. I wanted to look at them all. Then narrowed it to 2 and then decided on which one had the options I most wanted. Of course it was the most expensive because it had other options I didn't originally consider. We waited about 10 minutes and another girl came back with some numbers. I figured they'd take about 10K off the window sticker and I was close. Then they took another $750 off as a winter warmer rebate. OK. What really blew me away was the trade in for my 2011. It needed a windshield and tires fairly soon with 94,000km. They were giving me just under 18K trade. I only paid $21,700 and drove it for 4 years. I'm now the proud owner of a 2015 F150 Supercab 4x4 XLT with the 2.7 litre Ecoboost. I've only put a couple hundred Kms on it but it goes like stink. The options I wanted were the tow hitch and integrated brake control but I also ended up with the center console seat, XTR package, rear view camera with trailer hook up assist and tailgate step. Then I had them add a remote start and spray in box liner. It has the step rails to get in and is tuxedo black metallic. It's basically the truck I really wanted. The last truck was 2 wheel drive and I needed a vehicle in the worst way when I bought it. I'm hoping it proves reliable because I plan on keeping it for 10 years or more and with the aluminum body it shouldn't rust. I figured I deserve a treat for a change.
