Otis is coming along just fine. He wrestles with his “brother” whose name is Tubby. Otis is about 30 pounds and Tubby is 60 and Otis will go nose to nose with Tubs UNTIL the food comes out and we have “food aggression”. Then Tubby can show his ugly side & Otis will acquiesce (Tubby ain't playing any more /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)

Otis sleeps inside every night with us. I have been taking him to work on the days when the wifey works early. On days she works late, he sleeps in with her and he’s only home alone for a couple hours. So.. we have me at work, with dog, with TBN... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

His drive to retrieve is there and he’ll happily play fetch for a while… then he’ll decide enough & lay down with the ball and just chew on it, rather than bringing it back for me to throw again.

I don’t know how clearly the pics will show it, but his eyes look like they have eyeliner around them. His lips also have that shadow, as though he’s got a chocolate milk moustache. His tongue is a light lavender color (??).

Was at Petsmart other day about new food & the girl said I need to be careful feeding him such & such… then I mentioned to her he was a parvo survivor & could probably stomach anything… she laughed & said I was probably right.

I sure hope nothing happens to him, cause the wifey treats him even better than she did Wiggles & Daisy. (I suppose because she “picked” him, rather than him being abandonded out our way).

All these pics but the first one, were taken yesterday (4/22/04)

I’ll post an older one of him first as a “before”

Looking good Richard, glad he's doing well /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If I can get a new pic of Buddy tomorrow, I'll show you what he might look like in 3 years

Keep him on the food that he has been eating all along. If you start to teach him about different tastes, you will create a monster that will eat a half bag and then decide that he wants a different flavor. Dogs and cats are not finicky about food until their owners teach them that if they hold out, a new taste will arrive. I have never seen a cat skeleton in a tree or a dog that starved to death when there is food in the bowl. The can can get out of the tree when he/she is ready!

P.S. Support your local pet shop or grain store, rather than the superstores........ your small local business owners will appreciate your support of them and will be around to help you in the future.......
