Our local dealer finally sold out to the big multi dealer corporation

We used to have a dealer in our town that got all my business, then JD decided to "go with the flow" wanting fancy showrooms & more. Being they were mostly AG & it was starting to die off some around here, they closed.
A few of the folks went to work at another down the road that went "with the flow", i started doing business with them in the early 90's & have been very impressed with the sales/service of the dealership. The owner still calls me by name when i walk in, trust me, i don't walk in all that often.
In the following years, i've bought 3 mowers, Gator & newer tractor from them, all at the amount that i could afford, not the original price quoted.
If i have a service problem, my salesman walks me back to the service dept. & they walk me through the fix that i can do myself, naturally, they get it if i can't do it.
I've sent them customers over the years & they have been treated the same, they sent customers as well from their experience with them.
To make a long story short, i'm starting in sales with this dealership in a week & cannot wait to help them continue along providing great customer service. Sure, a dealership can't be everything to everyone, they should strive like all get out to though & IMO, this dealership does.
Having been in sales & customer service most of my 58 years, i'm really looking forward to this new adventure.

It's a good feeling going to a job you want as opposed to one you need.

Ag-Power is king around here. I understand they have 17 dealerships from Texas up to/thru Missouri.

I tell you how I feel about that. I just acquired new neighbors who purchased open land. They are not farmers; quite the contrary. I have gone out of my way to help them to enjoy their newly purchased land. Part of that was assisting in the purchase of maintenance equipment. That wound up being a 4052 with all the amenities and currently necessary implements.

I wanted to steer them in that direction for 2 reasons: 1. That tractor is fully loaded. Since the folks drive the upper cut autos, they are used to the finer things in life and this tractor offers them. 2. The Ag-Power network has an extensive field service network. For a very reasonable fee, they come out to the customer's property and help new owners learn how to use their equipment and do all the servicing requirements. This is a very big deal as I see it for them. No doubt they made the right choices and are thrilled by their decisions as evidenced by their activities around here.

As you can see no JD hosses are in my stable currently, although I have had numerous over the years. I do all my servicing and have been riding tractors for 37 years now and don't need instructions. Therefore I don't need the services they provide and although my 6530 has all the whistles and bells, the rest don't, in case you were wondering.
