About a month ago we purchased a new Kubota ZG222Z. Love the machine. I put a few custom goodies on it to make it got faster. I ended up installing the mulching kit on it as well. I custom built a rear bumper to pull my cart and seeing I mow a little down by the highway I put a rear quad LED take down light on the ROPS. For added safety I put a few extra safety stickers on it as well.

Nice mods, and real nice machine. When I purchased my new tractor 6/08 and a couple attachements I only had a few grand left over to spare. I bought a toro timecutter z (50 in. deck). It is the biggest homeowner model they make. I cut roughly 2.o acres w/ many obstacles. I am happy w/ it but cant wait till the tractor is paid off to get me a nice commercial unit.

Do you have built in rollers for lawn stripping on that deck?

Thanks Charlton John. Sounds like you have a nice machine as well. The only rollers on my machine is the ones on the deck to prevent the deck from digging in. I'm new to this zero turn stuff and I've never seen stripping rollers. Is it something that can be added? We had an old Craftsman lawn tractor before we bought this zero and although it was a great machine It couldn't get around the trees so well as the new zero. I went with the Kubota because of the great service our dealer provides and I'm happy with it so far.

4shorts your the man when it comes to customizing. Do you own anything that you haven't modified? I sure do get envious looking at your projects and skills. When it gets too cold up there this winter you can come down my way and play with my toys. :D

Thanks Thomas. That's my wife doing when it comes to the washing. She's more conservitive than I am and tried to save a dollar where she can :D

MarkV I never really thought of it before but I guess I have to say that everything I've owned I've added something to it to take the bordom out of it ;) I'll head down your way when it gets cold and we'll get started at your stuff. We'll start with the fabrication and then move up to painting :D Glad you like the stuff. Thanks

Yes my machine is okay but does not at all compare to yours! Yes you can buy stripping kits or make your own which appear to be pretty easy. I like to consider myself a "grass geek" so until I have all the lawn looking like a golf course I wouldnt do. We bought the land which was all cow pasture (woods in back) and all we have done is mow this down so far. Looks good and green from a distance but is really a bunch of weeds. I plan on ripping the whole 2 acres up in the next few years and starting my grass from scratch.

I know there are some commercial units that have lawn strippers built right into the decks. Just not sure which ones.
