Ours is finally coming to an end.

I was inspired by 'sr160009's thread to post some pics of our retirement home. "sr160009" I hope yours goes smoother than mine did.

My wife and I have never lived in a house of our own. We've always owned a two apartment house and have always had people walking over our heads.

Our goal has always been to have a single family house.

We started building in Feb 06, it was supposed to take 6 mos, here's where we are after 14 mos. Weather has hurt us, the last two years of rain has been real bad. I've had three driveways wash out completely. The process has been agravating but not having any other experience maybe building just is a pain.

We designed the house to fit the lot and I'm very happy with the design. The contractor has been good the workmanship is excelent, the bank has been super, it just seems to be taking forever

I am jellous now. I love the view ya'll have. I though I was going to have a good view from my home, it dosn't even compare to what you have. Looks like you are in the last stretch to complete the house. It looks like a very nice home.

Makes me feel good that I inspired you into your own thread. I love looking at everyone projects and idea's. The more information the better, I know I have learn a lot from all of ya'll on TBN.
