Yesterday, for unimportant reasons, I had to go to a grocery store and pick up some prepackaged food for lunch today. One of the items I bought was a little container called "Balanced Breaks". It contains
Natural Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Sea- Salted Cashews & Cherry juiced infused Dried Cranberries.
Natural cheese? Sea salted cashews? Juice infused Cranberries? WTHeck is juice infused? and is regular salt no longer available? And it was $$$$.
Also yesterday I read a blurb about a "Social Influencer" What exactly is a social influencer?

I am becoming more out of touch every day.

A) If you want to eat healthy, buy the ingredients and make it yourself.

B) I just noticed the term for the first time myself. Apparently there are people who somehow get a bunch of “followers” (aka “sheep”) on social media, then tell them where they should eat, what they should wear, who they should vote for, how they should think. Then they somehow coerce merchants into giving them discounts and free stuff, on the assumption that the “flock” will patronize that store on the sheperd’s word.

The last is just my uneducated take on it, experiences may vary.

I prefer to be more out of touch. I dont use Facebook to record my life and tell everyone where I am going and show pictures of what I eat.

I just dont get the 'sea salt over regular mined salt. If you want the minerals from salt, just buy bulk road salt and grind it yourself-it has all the minerals still in it.

I dont get some of the issues with organic over regular like organic milk for instance. Does it taste better than milk from a cow that eats grass that is not organically fertilized? My opinion on organic anything is that it is mostly hype and is no different from any other thing that you eat and mostly is just more expensive.

I just can't help but worry what will happen if the Internet goes down, for reasons of a Mass Coronal Discharge Event, or other. People by the Billions will be so screwed it won't even be funny. If there is a major earthquake or Yellowstone errupts, I'm guessing the Internet and EVERYTHING attached to it will be useless for some time as well.

If enough folks protect their hardware...pirate networks and bulletin boards will thrive once again...like the early days of modem magic...

No computers, no cell phones, I would have died and gone to heaven. I love being unplugged. Unfortunately, I have to spend more time connected than disconnected because of work. Losing the internet and cell phones sound like a wonderful blessing ot me.

You won't get much peace with all the hysterical masses running about.

I disagree. When the Internet fails, it fails. I THINK it's designed that way. It will only try so many times and gives up. If every device was trying relentlessly to get back on, the Internet would never get back up. I know a guy in Pharma IT, and he even says that if just his stuff ever quit, he would not know how to get it back up again. You might as well fly an airplane up into the "clouds" and look for a reset switch!

I know I have posted this before, but for the sake of clarity I'll post it again. I have had minor heart palpitations (irregular heart beat) since I was in grade school; nothing serious, but off and on, and affected by such things as decongestants and potassium supplements. One day on my way to work, I was listening to some question/answer program, and the guest was a doctor. A lady called in, said she had palpitations. In short, he said try sea salt before medication. Next time I bought salt, I bought iodized sea salt and it stopped my palpitations for over 20 years. Never had another till recently, when doctor changed my BP meds.

LoL...guess again...!...you're obviously only familiar with the typical interface you refer to as the "Internet"...there's an endless number of networks many with very limited access and many are safe guarded against things like CMEs etc., etc...
Even some of the sub webs hiding in plain site of the public WWW are capable of surviving just about anything short of annihilation...

I just opened a carton of eggs and to my surprise, there is puter righten on each egg.

It's bad enough that they are putting all our eggs into this one Internet basket, but this cashless society is just the final nail in the coffin if you ask me. It assures, that in the absense of the internet, we won't even be able to buy and sell amoungst ourselves. Whether that be a long or short term situation.
