CC GT 2550
Hello all, I am new to these forums. I recently had an “accident” with my LT 1050 with only 90 hours on it. (It came off a tilt bed trailer when the locking pin malfunctioned). I have now purchased a new GT 2550. After reading the posts here it seems like there are many knowledgeable folks who can help me with some questions.

First regarding the LT 1050. The engine, mower deck, tires, PTO are fine. I am sure the trans is messed up because of the accident and the dash is busted up as well. The engine starts and runs fine and the PTO and deck engages. My question sis what is the best way to dispose of this unit? Do I piece it out and sell it for parts or try to sell it as a whole “as is” unit. I paid $3599 for the 2550 and was only going to get $250 in trade for the LT 1050, so I elected to keep it.

I can purchase a Cub snow thrower for the 2550 for $1299. I am hearing that the Bercomac snow thrower is a better unit, but it will cost me $1700. Does anyone have info comparing these 2 units?

Also I am looking for a cab for the 2550, can any make a recommendation?

Lastly, after reading many good things about the Johnny Bucket I couldn't resist and have ordered one with the downpressure. I can't wait to get it!!:D

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd say if you have the time, part it out on E-bay. There seems to be a pretty nice market for used parts and for the trouble, you could probably pay for the bercomac.

I got my cab thru the dealer....it's made by the original cab co.

I also have a JBjr and a cub snowthrower.

The cab stays on the tractor all year ( I have the screens, for the warmer weather)

The JBjr has excavated, moved TONS of topsoil, and moved TONS of stone.

The Cub snowthrower has handled many winter storms with ease.
The snowthrower was modified when I installed the cab, I use the electric sleeve hitch to raise and lower the snowthrower, and I use an electric motor to move the chute direction, the tilt of the chute is still operated by the oem handle......

I am VERY satisfied with my GT2542 and ALL of it's attachments.

I would part your old one out on e-bay if you don't mind taking the time.
I just bought a 2005 LT1050 that also fell off of a trailer and the transaxel had a broken housing and it needed the plastic dash and I found the parts on e-bay

I gave $300.00 for mine with only 159 hours. And have spent only $150.00 for parts. You could get a lot more if you part it out. I would also list the trans because I bought one with a bent axel to get the housing for mine.
