We already live with that regulation here.

Wood heat:
The Air Board issues directives during winter when air quality is poor prohibiting wood burning on certain days below 3000' elevation.
The County just passed an ordinance prohibiting wood fireplaces in new construction. The cities have done that for a while now.

Ag burning: Most has been outlawed.

Hazard reduction burning: Still legal but, as has been the law for some time, burning is only allowed on days that are deemed ok by the Air Board.
Probably have to get a chipper soon ... and burn more diesel /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I only burn dry red oak in mine. It does not smoke more than any other fire. I really don't understand the thinking behind burning green wood. Those who do it say it will burn longer, well duh, it has to drive off all the water before it will burn. You don't get any more heat, you just get more smoldering, lower temp, less intense, more ash, more soot, and more smoke. I don't get it.
