Outlook email

I use Outlook 2003 as my email client. When I want to attach a picture to an email, it asks me if I want to resize the image or send it as is. That's a nice feature I've grown used to.

I was at a friends today who had a later version [2007?] of Outlook. His version did not ask about resizing the picures. Is there some way to make Outlook ask him about resizing?

Jack, do you know what version of Windows he has. I'm using Vista and I usually just resize my pictures using the free PIXresizer, but in Vista, I can go to the photo gallery and open a picture and on the toolbar at the top, one of the options is e-mail. Click on that and it offers about 5 size options, then click on "attach".

This does not answer the question, but on the subject of email pictures, Google Picasa works great.

What happened to the automatic picture resize option?

In Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, there is an option to automatically resize attached pictures to a smaller, more e-mail friendly size.
The new Ribbon, which is part of the Microsoft Office Fluent user interface, changes how you access this feature in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
Automatically reduce the size of pictures

1. On the Insert tab, in the Include group, click Attach File. Tip You can also drag and drop a picture from Windows Explorer. The picture file will be attached to the e-mail message.
2. On the Insert tab, click the Include Dialog Box Launcher

3. In the Attachment Options pane, under Picture options, in the Select picture size drop-down combo box, click the size of picture you want to include.

Even with older Outlook versions, there is an image resizer from MS that will let you manually resize pictures.
