Hopefully simple question
I have a 1635, I'm looking for a simple output shaft cover. The plastice cover it came with was bolted on. I'm looking for something to slide on and off easily without tooks.
So, my question is what do you use or where do you buy them.
Thanks

I still use the bolt-on cover for my rear PTO (don't use it a lot), but for other output shafts --mid PTO, MMM,etc.-- I've been using lengths of 1" heater hose with a plastic spray-can cap super-glued on one end. Works well, and the slight curve in the hose holds them in place nicely. Your shafts may be larger than my SCUT's, but I bet you could find some rubber hose to match.

Clever, thanks

Great idea Walt! We make some rubber hose that large and a couple pieces of end scrap would work perfectly.

Thanks,
Jeff

Glad to help! I've even left my rubber hose cover on the mid-PTO when it's vacant, still running the tractor; no problems, keeps dirt & stuff off the splined shafts. Same for MMM and other assorted shafts when in storage. For larger shafts (snowblower), I use a piece of round cardboard shipping tube for storing.
