What the h--- is wrong with some people? ( No,.. never mind- I don't even care. EXCUSES NOT ACCEPTED!)
Recently here in the NW, a young (14?) boy soaked a small kitten in diesel,... and set it on fire!
Then just yesterday I saw on the news that 4 "young men", 16 yrs. and older, had taped a dog's muzzle shut with duct-tape, and "tortured" it with firecrackers (details not given...use your imagination, if you can take it)!
My response to this is too strong and too primitive to allow me to accept all the "Oh, the poor confused boys!" wailing that always follows this sort of thing. Anger can sometimes be quite clearly understood, and I wouldn't be shy or polite about expressing it.
Here's why they're NOT confused... They don't sleep on railroad tracks. Why? Because they KNOW that the train will run over them...no questions asked!
They don't rest by leaning on bright orange burners on the electric stove. Why? Because they KNOW it will burn them, every time, ...no exceptions!
They do these CRIMINAL things ( "sick' things? ... of course, but every criminal could be considered sick by some standard, if what we want to do is free everyone from all responsibility for their actions) because :
(A) They (stupidly believe they won't be caught, ...and
(B) They know that if they are, someone is likely to bend-over-backwards to find a way to accept any BS excuse, rather than face up to the need for disciplining these creeps. (THIS is what our "system HAS taught them!)
Isn't it interesting how "Bleeding hearts" always point to "surveys" showing that most prisoners say that punishment isn't a deterence to crime. DUH! Hello! These are the guys who WERE NOT DETERRED! [see(A) and (B), above]
There are plenty of people on the street who ARE DETERRED,...by their own character and principles, or by a wish to STAY on the street. Ask THEM if punishment is a deterrence!!
I am so simple-minded as to be confident that I could help these "slow-learners" catch-on very quickly. All they need is to understand that there will be SWIFT (as quickly as we can catch them) and CERTAIN, UNPLEASANT CONSEQUENCES, which nothing-they-can-say (once their guilt is established) will prevent.
I don't care if they never had a color tv, or a birthday party, or a bicycle, or the latest $150 sneakers, or a Daddy. (They still learned about the train and the stove didn't they?)
They can d...-well behave like civilized human beings, just like the millions of other "disadvantaged" among us, or suffer (this is the "active" word) the consequences.
Besides, these vicious characters turn ME vicious... which is not really the way I like to feel. (It's a dirty job, but SOMEBODY has to be willing to do it...because if they know we're not - game over!). A "clinical","detached", "objective", or "measured" response to these types of atrocities is completely unnatural and phoney. When I hear of something, like this I am INVOLVED PERSONALLY, simply because I am a human being, and if and when I am able to do anything about it, there is going to be d... little "understanding" wasted on these jerks!
Sorry for the overflowing anger,... just needed to vent, I guess. Hope someone out there agrees with me.
If you don't, and are thinking of praying for me, don't do it... you've probably done enough harm already /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif!
