I really can't do anything. I'm on a bad hill and don't want to distract traffic.

Seems like Halloween has ramped up dramatically in recent years. Just saw a really cool animatronic hearse with skeleton driver and lead pony. I'd love to have it, but they want $400 for the pair.

The wife throws some decorations up, but I am not into that kind of thing. I thrive on doing something and having it last a long time, as that gets me through it. Like putting up a sheep fence. Yeah it sucks, but to spend 3 days doing something that will last 30 years is okay. Spending a day putting up Christmas Lights for something that lasts a month is silly.

(It is against the law in Maine to have Christmas Lights up after January 15th).

Some years I put up Christmas lights on the house.

That is about as far as I'm willing to go.

Up here, you have to put them on before winter sets in hard (ladder feet on ice and snow = E.R. visits). And then they don't come down until after spring thaw.

For a good tutorial on how to set up Christmas lights one should watch Christmas Vacation for some inspiration on a how to.................

Are you serious? I couldn't find anything about that. After my father passed away I vowed to light up a tree which he planted, after having the original family home torn down.
It was 35 feet tall with no power nearby, so I had to improvise. I bought some solar lights and ran them over the top using my bow. There's no way they are coming down again without cutting the tree down, although I did take off the solar chargers after the snow melted.

Is thinking about buying a 45 foot , 4WD, Diesel, articulated Genie Lift, almost for this sole purpose (on one tree) going nuts?

Ha ha. I think I would rather have a Genie Lift than spending my money on lots of lights anyway!

You wouldn't need the tree. Attach the light strings to the bucket on the ground, raise it, you're done.

Good idea. Somewhere I used to go past a construction company which put a Christmas Tree on top of a crane every year.

Air Orange (Helicopter Ambulance) that seems to have a flight path right accross my place, might get confused and crash. As it is, I often wonder what they think of my twisted Ropelight RED LED string around the mast of my Tower. I wonder if they use it as a kind of reference at night. Not exactly the RED Tower lights that dot the landscape.
