I just finished the 50 hr. service:) and when I was filling the front axle I accidentally over filled it. The fluid is not coming out of the filler hole(s) but the fluid is above the gauge on the front axle.

I know that over filled hydralic oil is not preferable but is a over filled front axle going to cause damage?

more mistakes to follow:D:D:D

thanks

Are you checking it when the machine is level? It makes a big difference.

If it were way over I'd just loosen a drain keep your fingers on it and let some out.

Or you can go to an auto parts store and buy a gadget that will suck the excess fluid out, it works like a good size plunger, I have 2 and I use them well, I don't know the name of it but maybe someone will chime in with it

try a turkey baster, agro supply stores also have large syringe's, attach a piece of windshield washer hose and suck some out,

I would make sure it is too full after a little time. It seems like a takes some time for the oil to get past the differential into the other side. Because of this I under-filled mine at 50 hrs and did not check it properly afterward and had to replace parts inside. A couple lessons were learned the hard way.

I replaced mine and when it looked full, it didn't take the entire amount as listed. I thought the capacity was a misprint. I drove it around my place for a few hundred yards and now it was low. There must be air pockets somewhere that give you the false reading on a refill. Just make sure you drive it around a bit and recheck. As previously mentioned, if still to full, just pick a side and drain a little.
