over the road diesel

One other thing, don't be tempted to use off-road diesel in your on-road vehicles. If the cops stop you and find any trace of red dye in your tank

I have also heard the IRS gets **** if they come out and dip fuel tanks in trucks and it comes out red.

A local topsoil/trucking service got a visit from the IRS and supposedly someone called the drivers and told them to keep driving around town and top-off with road diesel before coming back because the IRS had dipped one truck and it came out red.

Yes, the IRS will get involved. We had an agent visit our business last year wanting to check our vehicles and storage tank. Problem was, we have no diesel powered vehicles or storage tank.:p The got our name because we buy alot of off road fuel to power our air compressors. One reason we do not want to purchase any diesel powered trucks.

Why isn't there off-road gasoline?
I buy more gas than diesel for off-road use. Chainsaw, ZTR mower, weed whacker, ATV, generator, push mowers, golf carts etc. They never go on the road.
I would hate to get nailed for having "tinted" diesel in my vehicles since I use ATF as a conditioner/lubricant. It dyes the diesel red too!

There is off-road gas... visit your local marina.

Since I am a boater as well - SeaRay 500 w/ twin Detroit 8v92s, I can attest that the fuel (gas and diesel) sold at all of the marinas I know of, although can be considered off-road, it is definitely NO BARGAIN! :D :D :D

Also Av-gas...but I think you will want to stick with what you are paying now.

Getting back to the off road diesel, I look for a local home heating oil dealer to purchase mine from.

They usually have either a dedicated tank or pump it right from the tank they fill the delivery trucks with. Either way, I never got bad fuel.

Welcome to TBN :D! Your NH 1925 can burn "on" and "off" road diesel. MikePA is right about the difference. I would be cautious about fuel quality though. I go to a local station that serves all the local operators and school buses. It is a high volume dealer, so I believe the fuel to be less "contaminated" with water, etc. Jay
What do you mean by local operators?
Here where off road and on road are the same thing how can one be any better or worse than the other ?
I would think the off road users are a large enough comunity as a whole to be purchashing more than enough off road diesel to keep it fresh.
