Depending on what you are mowing, the radiator can be extremely vulnerable to clogging. If the mowed vegetation throws up seeds, dust or flack, that stuff can work its way into the radiator core and plug things up. Cleaning with water and air might alleviate it, or it may not. On my Branson, despite frequent cleaning of the radiator during and after mowing, I still developed overheating problems (only when mowing heavy brush or going fast up long hills). I finally removed the radiator and found it was indeed partially clogged despite my frequent cleaning. It is especially more difficult to clean on the tractor if you have a hydraulic fluid cooler and a/c condenser mounted in front of your radiator like many tractors do these days.
