I am considering the LS R4041 from a local dealer and he quoted me a price of $21,200 on a new 2013 model with FEL. This includes Tax, RimGuard and Delivery 40 miles. During my research on this model I notice a dealer in TX offering the oversized tires on the R4041 as a free "upgrade." They are the slightly larger tires standard on the R4047. The local dealer says this is standard on the R4041 and not really an upgrade at all. However, the spec sheets shows the tires sizes to be different on these two models. He says they always order the same tires sizes on those models. (I actually had another dealer tell me it wasn't even possible to put the larger tires on the R4041 and that it would void the warranty.)
Question #1 - I live in Western PA. How does this price sound to you? The dealer price in TX might be a little better but the delivery cost vs taxes is a wash.
Questions #2 - Anyone have any personal experience with the tire size. The tire size is not really that significant but are there any really advantages or disadvantages to a slightly larger tire?
Thanks in advance for help and suggestions. This is my first real tractor and I really like the LS line. I and have read all the reviews and I think I will be satisfied. I would really like to get the tractor before the Tier 4 Shibaura engines (or some other make) are used.
