My father-in-law was a Ford employee and was able to get the NH discount. However, now it's been a year and I need to get the thing in my name for insurance purposes. How do you go about doing that?
Andy. I don't know about other states but in Mass. new NH tractors are titled. I purchased a NH 1920 in Jan 02 from a private party (who bought it new in Oct 2000) and paid the note off that was held by NH Credit. They sent the title along with the original contract. Bill C
Interesting Since about the last 5 tractors I purchased were when I lived on Mass, and when I paid them off I never received a title from either JD Credit or Ford Credit. I wonder if it is a new requirement?
They are not titled in Texas. If it was financed then there would be a UCC1 which would just show a lein holder. If you want to purchase insurance on it simply get a bill of sale and contact your agent. Or call a dealer who sales Equipment Insuarnce International as they have very good rates.
new holland 1920, ferguson to35, case 1948 dc, kubota (my brothers but left here as he has no where to keep it)
Why transfer ownership?
If there is still a loan on it let him carry the note (better interest rates) just pay it to CNH credit I assume. This way if it is for business purposes you still get the deduction, and add FIL to the insurance policy as add'l insured.
If there are other reasons for transfer please explain and I'll learn something as usual.
