I am in the final throws of buying a snow blower.way to much reasearch and wanted a zaugg but the money was too steep for the few days a year of snow. I was going to get the farm king from my local dealer and then I saw this. 66" Lorenz Snow Blower Model 530 a very nice paddle blower that is different.I thought that this may be good for doing all the driveways in the neighbour hood. always that pile of snow that the street plow leaves behind . Anyone had one of these? anyone have any thoughts as I am running blind on this one?

I bought a nice Meteor, made in Canada, last winter. It's a great blower and is 76" but it was almost $1000 less than they are asking for the one you are looking at. You might check them out.

No personal experience with them, but that is exactly what the salesman at my local tractor dealer uses behine his L series Kubota, and he is plenty happy with his. Far as I can tell, the paddles are doing the same as a continuous auger.... looks like they have just figured out a way to save on the cost of the steel they use in munufacturing the blowers.

Hey I had that same Model years ago, I must of had it it for 12 or more years. Had it behind a Super 55 Oliver Tractor, it worked super well. I live in the Great Northeast and we receive quite a bit of snow and wind. I have about a 250' driveway with a large turn-around for my RV, never had a problem with my Lorenz blower, never broke down and never had to repair one thing. Although I am quite finicky about Maintenance schedules.

I am thinking that that design is less likely jam on picked up objects (like rocks, newspapers etc -- see thread on jamming your blower:rolleyes:) than a conventional auger. On most blowers I have used rocks seem to get moved along by the auger then jam just before they enter the fan. I think that setup may tend to blow more rocks clear through -- just a thought

tHANKS FOR THE INPUT GUYS ,I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND MY SNOW BLOWER. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A TRIM TAB ACUATOR BEING USED TO CONTOL THE SPOUT DEFLECTOR? THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A CHEEP BUT EFFICIENT OPTION?
