I'm in the process of roofing my 30 x 20 open-sided shed. The front slope of the roof faces the driveway entry and will present a contrasting glare against the forested background so we want to paint this portion so it not so obvious. The roof is new galvanized steel and I haven't yet installed the front slope. I will paint it and the ridge cap first so I don't have to hassle with a ladder again. Question is what kind if paint is suitable? The front slope is 4' x 30' and at a 45 deg angle so will shed water fast.

The key to success in any painting project is the prep. Washing the panels with a cleaner/degreaser is the first step, using a mild acid to etch the galvanized panels is the next and maybe the most important. I would not use vinegar, there are better products available at a good paint store designed just for this application. A primer specifically used on metal is the next step, it will most likely be a solvent based primer and not a water based. 2 top coats compatible with the primer will give you good protection and longer life. If you have a local paint store that sells either a national brand or local brand I would recommend talking with them about the products they have.
Big ditto on that. They tried painting the steel roof on the hockey rink by our house, they were up there with pressure washers and all kinds of chemicals prepping the thing, the paint job didn't even last a year before it started to peel. After a few years it looked like the roof had leprosy, there were big sheets of paint flapping in the wind.

That sounds the least troublesome. Sounds like no prep work. Could be done before or after installing the 5V. Interesting.
