Well I moved my nissan forklift down to the farm so we could use it to load stuff in the barn. I didn't want to bring it back to my house for the basic stuff I do here in town so I decided it was time to add some forks to the FEL. I had some spare 36" forks in the scrap file @ the farm so I decided to bring them up for the build. I had all the material on hand to build this from other projects. I just had to buy some 1" pins to leave in the frame for the QA.
First was building a frame and I had some 1.5"x.25" Wall Square along with some 4" channel. Cut them and welded them together.

Then I found a nice piece of 3/8" plate to hold the forks. It was about 5" wide. I put it in the mill and milled out several detents for the pallet forks to grab into with the pin.

After that I ripped the 5"x3/8" plate in half long ways for the top and bottom. The top has the detents.

I then measured about 20 times trying to get them close to 16" apart so the forks would slide on. (I will probably run a grinder across them a few times because the fit is snug now).

After that I made some attachment brackets on the plasma table and welded them on using some 1" aluminum stock(old tent pole) to keep things lined up straight.

Then it was test fitting everything and some paint.

The setup worked well and easily picked up a steel cage pallet I had that I keep scrap metal in.

It also worked out well that I can build a spear for the receiver hitch I put on the QA and it will allow me to pick up hay bales etc with the forks. I've become really fond of this tractor and enjoy all the uses it seems to have. It's much more diverse than my skid steer or the forklift.
