Man Oh man..These pallet forks are just great. I managed to get half a dozen pallets from a local bussiness and have been putting everything from Auto Engines to Snowmobiles on pallets. How did I ever get along without this tractor for so long it is beyond me.

Helped a friend who has a tree service the other day with it also. Loaded chips and filled stump holes. He was impressed.

If you have a loader, I highly recommend the pallet forks. only draw back is they are hard to see. The end of the forks from the driver seat. Then if you lean too far forward the engine dies from the seat switch. Needs a level indicator on it. I am going to work on that sometime.

A height indicator is more like it. I have the bucket leveler but knowing when the forks are one inch off of the ground is the tough part..

I can tell that you have been diggin holes with your forks /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have the forks too, and know exactly what you are experiencing. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

For several years I had the bucket level indicator on my tractor but never used it. Got so I could 'feel' when the bucket was on the ground and level. But then with the forks, I didn't have that same touch. Suddenly (after digging too many holes while piling brush with the forks) I thought about using the level indicator, so put a 'level' mark on it (band of white paint stick) and it works great. Even now with the bucket I have found I reposition the bucket to a hair below (tipped forward) level soon after I dump a load of dirt. Then on the way back to getting another load, I am all set to 'dig in' without digging too deep.

My 460 loader doesn't have the bucket level indicator and I've pretty much learned to go by instinct. Does the level indicator really work for pallet forks that are attached to the loader - the same as it does for the bucket?

Should, and all you need to do is calibrate it and make a mark at the point where the forks are level. I think. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

No offense guys, but this is a great example of a thread that should not be 'hidden' in the JD forum. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Everyone could benefit if it was begun in the Attachments Forum. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
