i have a bobcat 743 i need a pallet fork attachment and was wondering if i could build one i have the forks. if anyone has plans or has built one before i need some advise.
I was going to build a set but I had a set of class three forks, they are very heavy. It is about as cheap to buy a set as to build a set. I got lucky and found a set new for $650 made my loflin fabrication. If you decide to build a set this will make it easier. You will also need a quick attach plate.
Before trying to build a frame I would check with some equipment dealers to see if they had or could order just a frame. I had 2 sets of used Class 2 forks and found some 4000 lb. frames made in Knoxville @ $365 ea. Set both up with the forks and sold 1 set for $500 to help pay for the set I kept.
I built my own frame for my Cat 226 skid-steer found some old forks laying around at work off a forklift that was long gone.. IF your capable of producing strong welds then sure it can be built. but I have my doubts if you are asking this question soo i cant answer if you can build one or not.. I have about $100 in material in mine, but that was 5 or 6 years ago prices
Do a search on rsc and sunbelt rentals website, they have used equipment for sale. I have seen forks for $350 before. Also you could look for a set on off of a forklift.
