I'm thinking of getting some QA Pallet Forks for the 5030/853. Looking for uses other than moving some pallets around. Anybody have experience on how much the 853 loader will really lift. I know it has a 2300 lb lift capability somewhere out from the pivot point.

I'm thinking lifting logs, moving lumber, etc. Just wondering what other folks are doing with theirs?

I built an attachment for my forks so I can pick things up at the end of the forks. Something like this ad in Northern Tool but with the ability to hold it in place without sliding. I've used it for painting other projects moving implements around without needing to attach them to the 3pt when I don't want to...they just make your forks more versatile.

I made a set of forks for my tractor 4 years ago and I can't believe that I ever lived without them. I use them to: move big logs, lift bundles of shingles up to the roof, move pallets, carry lumber, stack railroad ties, move big rocks, etc...
One of my favorite projects using forks was: a few years ago using the forks to put up a tree fort for my son. I build the fort with a roof on it and picked it up and set it on a tree stump thart was about 7' up in the air.
