Do you beef up or enlarge the deck of your pallets to accommodate implements 6 or 7 foot wide??

Pallets are pretty durable, I actually use a smaller pallet to fit between my rear wheels for my like my Ballast drum. That is 800+ pounds. My Box blade is 66 inches so I put a piece of decking under the blade and the teeth. Pallets are easy to come by and easy to customize for your needs

really whats going to happen if you exceed the rated capactiy by a 100lbs? you flat spot or squish the rubber wheels? (go with solid steel ones)

LOL, I have an engine cradle that I had a small block Chevy on. I removed that engine and mounted a 1959 348 engine. When I went to push the cradle, the rubber wheels just rolled off the casters. I didn't think the weight differed that much between the two engines.

BTW I buy my wheels at Harbor Freight. Usually has them on sale and they have a good selection.

I use the furniture dollies from Harbor Freight. You can use them as is, or remove the wheels to add to a larger pallet. They have those Dollies on sale quite a bit, and you can buy the dolly with 4 250lb wheels for less than the wheels alone.

Flintlock,
I have a cement garage floor, w/ expansion grooves. I've experienced everything the other posters have experienced. Given the size and probable weight (400lbs +) of your implements, my experience would lead me to recommend that you go with larger castors, and not use steel wheels. As Offy and DaTeacha warn, floors that are not swept or blown clean will have that 1/8th of an inch-round rock that will stop you when you try to stage your implements. One other item---- when mounting/dismounting off of a pallet w/ an i-match or quick hitch configuration, I have to remember to pre-set the top link to level out how the i-match hooks hold the implement, otherwise the implement doesn't release cleanly.

Here are some casters I have been considering
light duty
heavy duty
Looks to be great quality and I have ordered from them before with great and fast results
