I've been having a problem with my parking brake not working lately. Crawled under and discovered that only part of teeth lined up with the pawl and those teeth are worn down. Anyone had to deal with this? 20170411_155239.jpg

Looks like the pawl and its catch never were aligned that well, from where it's rusty. Can you shim parts to get better alignment? I'm assuming you can replace the toothed bar.

Does look offset. The teeth on both of mine hit right in the middle of the catch. I looked at the parts diagram on Messick's and it shows 2 different spacers. That may be the issue.

Thanks for the replies. Will look into the spacers for sure.
