Part Needed for Mitsubishi Satoh SD2040

I recently purchased a Satoh SD2040, year is not known. I need a front grill with headlights part. I have not been able to obtain any information about a Satoh SD2040, only information about a ST2040. I do not know if these are the same tractors and if parts are inter-changeable. I saw a picture of a SD and it appeared to look like the ST.

Are you sure your tractor is a Satoh? I'm NOT a Satoh expert but I've not seen a Satoh SD2040 model. Pretty sure that was a Shibaura model and the ST2040 is a Satoh.
Can you post a pic of your tractor?

Hello, thanks for your reply. No we are not sure the tractor is a Satoh. WE have received pictures of the tractor so will figure out how to get them on here. On a side view of the tractor the decal shows M B 2040.

I have no idea what make it may be but a photo should help. To attach a photo, click on "Go Advanced", then "Manage Attachments" then find the pic in your computer folder, click on it and upload to TBN by clicking "Add File".

I think your tractor is definitely a Mitsubishi/Satoh and might be a D2050, ST2040 or 2320. Does it have any I.D. on the engine? Is it a 4 cylinder? I am also curious about it's tire size.

Hello Darryl, Do you known what the letters MB would mean, that is on the side view of the tractor. I live in BC Canada and am currently in Arizona. I will be back in Canada on Jan 19 and will look for some ID on the engine. I have been told that the numbers 2040 mean that it is 20 horsepower and 40 means 4 cylinder but when I get home I will be able to obtain more info.

Check out Valley Power's website at Valley Power the section concerning "Technical Data" is very informative concerning Mitsubishi/Satoh/Kumiai. The "20" designates 20 PTO horespower ( probably 24 engine HP) the "40" appears to be a 4WD designation. A 2WD drive version would be a "2020".... which in hindsight blows my 2320 out of the water. As far as "MB", I have no idea.

I owned several gray market Mitsubishis years ago and still own a Kumiai MTE2000D.....but I am no expert, I simply have a soft spot for the brand. Try contacting Bill Rogers at Valley Power or Len Scheaffer at 403 Forbidden They are probably the foremost experts on these tractors and can probably answer many of your questions.

You have a nice machine, whatever it is

. Nice FEL and tiller, the tires look great and it looks like it is in good condition overall. Be careful using the loader, these tractors are narrow and light so always carry your load as close to the ground as possible and have a heay impliment for counter weight on back when using it. You will also quickly learn why power steering would have been really nice on these machines! Keep us informed on what you find out!

I am a Mitsu owner (other size).
Suggest U get creative and fabricate a grill of some sort as U will find replacement parts very rare and costly when U do find them.
Other than cosmetic, a grill serves mainly to protect the radiator so a frame and some HD wire mesh or expanded metal would serve your needs.
