I am posting this for to document the process and part numbers for others who may run into this issue in the future. The lower bearing at the articulation joint went and with the guidance and assistance from Tom as italiantractors.com I was able to replace the bearings and the tractor is back up and running. The important item is the bearing part numbers. What I removed was a FAG 32007X which cross referenced to a MOOG 32007 which fit perfectly.
Toms guide to replace them was as follows:
Replace them one at a time (or both) in place. Support the middle sections, front and rear with blocking (this is to keep the weight of the engine or anything else from shifting the rear or front sections).
The castle nut is held in place with lock tab washers, remove and tap out the pins. Once the pins are removed, the bearings will need to be tapped out of their respective bases. This should be able to be accomplished with a hammer and drift, but probably won't be easy.
Once out, you would match up the bearings (MOOG 32007), replace and reverse the procedure. The bearings are probably a press fit to both the base and the pin. A simple press can be made using ready rod and a fender washer. For example, you feed the ready rod through the hole and center of bearing with a fender washer above and below. A nut is on each end and when tightened, it draws the bearing into the base. Once the bearing is in place, a greased pin should be able to be tapped through and fastened.
The hardest part was cleaning things up and getting the lock tab washers off to be honest. Make sure you block it so the tractor is stable and wont move and replace one at a time.
Good luck ~ Phil
