So this probably could happen to any hydraulic brake system but unfortunately its happening to my Pasquali's brakes. Whats happening is after sitting with no use the next time I go to use the tractor there is no brake pedal pressure.
A little history, when I got the tractor, 5-7 or so years ago the brakes were bad and I replaced the wheel cylinders and master cylinder and all was well, great pressure and worked fine. Then last year one day I went to use it there was no pedal pressure. Before this happened I did press HARD on the pedal to hold the tractor in place while twitching a log out and this could have contributed Im now thinking.
Looking the brakes over I found no leaks, I could bleed the brakes and they would work for a day but the next time I used it the pressure was lost again. Since I could not see any fluid leaking I decided I must have damaged the master cylinder, maybe the primary cup and while sitting fluid was leaking past back up the line into the reservoir.
So last fall I bought a new master cylinder, primed and then installed it and all was well, till this spring. When I took the tractor out the brakes were flat, I bleed them and started using the tractor and was using it pretty consistently every few days. Now after sitting for over a week when pulled it into the garage to work on the clutch cable I found it with no brake pedal pressure again.
So my question is what can be causing the fading and loss of pressure? I still see no leaks very weird. For kicks I bleed one wheel cylinder and it appears to let air out and then fluid and pressure built up. By the time I put my tools away and cleaned up to pull the tractor out the pressure was gone again.
Im at a loss as to whats causing this, any ideas??
