Kubota L3830 GST
I just wanted to post some comments on my buying experience. I have/am purchasing a L3830 GST with FEL. It has been an eventful experience /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, but overall I am pleased how things are working out. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

At first, my dealer did not meet his delivery date and consequently missed the next two /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif, but his customer service has been exceptional since then. To his credit, most of it has been outside his control.

The price he quoted me was $1000 less than any dealer in the state /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I've not even once, had to negotiate any pricing. The dealer delivered the tractor to me, minus the FEL. They are going to pick it up and install an FEL on it and bring it back. Then if satisfied with the setup they will install the toothbar and if not, they will exchange the bucket for the one I want. Not to mention it is an 45 min drive to my house from the dealer.

I've already put 11 hours on the tractor and love it to death /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif And here is the best part...I have not given them any money! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif They just have an approve credit app. from me. I've got a written quote, that guarantee's my price and options too.

I don't have patience, but for once in my life they are paying off. It's been a little slow, but I think, in the end, it will all pay off. I will definitly reccomend this dealer to others.

Also, thanks to all the input from everyone here. I'll keep you posted on further developments.

Thanks,
Dave

I am amazed how the tractor bussiness is..It is like what the car bussiness used to be..Honor,trust,etc....Buying my compact utility tractor has given me alot of faith after dealing with motor vehicle bussiness..

Love the GST so far. Haven't got a FEL yet, so I'll know more when I can use it with it. I've been bush hogging in 6th gear. The forward reverse switch at this speed is just right. When it gets a little faster it is a little too fast to hit reverse. I still use the clutch some, but everything is so smooth I hardly notice I do.

I've mowed 10 hours with it (6 hours at one time, boy my butt hurt) /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif The GST has been great for my large fields. I'm sure I wouldn't have like the hydro. If it was tighter quarters with more FEL work, the hydro might be better. All of my vehicles (4) are manuals /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif So, I'm pretty partial to them anyway. I think I use the "shift on the fly" most of all. It is very nice to just click up through the gears on the fly.

Dave,

Others on the board might appreciate knowing who your dealer is since he has bent over backward to make up for something out of his control. I suspect he is the same dealer who has a Kubota on order for me and is doing a lot of extra juggling too because of supply problems. He's got the tractor but not the Kubota dealer installed options yet.

Another good thing about my dealer- he also save me $600 in tax by taking it in trade for the same price I had planned to sell it for to a 3rd party. He did not make anything on this part of the deal.

Sure, I just didn't know if that was allowed.

It is Lawrence County Equipment, located near Beford Indiana. The owners name is Rodney. I believe they also sell New Holland there too.

John, sounds like you've got similiar proble.... I mean oppurtunties /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif They had the tractor in a short amount of time, but it is the extra's they having issues with. One thing he did say, is that my tractor will be the first he has did with a tooth bar. He done plenty of skid steers though.

Thanks,
Dave

Anytime that a dealer bends over backwards and does extra special things to serve their customers, by all means, they deserve to be recognized! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Glad to see your patience is paying off. You've found a good dealer that I'd guess will not forget you soon.
Guess my dealings with my dealer were not as memorable. I stopped by my dealer last week. He didn't know me from Adam .... It is a 35 mile drive to the dealership, and I went there specifically to look at toothbars. Fairly big dealership. He handles Kubota and New Holland, but has never carried tooth bars. I asked why, and he said he didn't see the need for one. The way everyone with a TB raves about them it surprised me that a dealer can still be in the dark about them. Since it's the first one your dealer is putting on, he must just be begining to see the light.

Funny isn't it, that us rookie tractor buyers can teach the long time tractor dealers something ....and all thanks to TBN. Course the dealers have to be a little open minded about the whole thing. Mine could care less. Didn't offer to try to get one or offer any other information at all. I told him I'd seen multiple sources for the Tooth Bars online, but he didn't care. Must not be enough markup for him to mess with. Oh well, his loss.

MicroPilot;
No, not the KY dealer. This dealer is across the river in WV. Good dealer, just no interest at all in toothbars.
