Kubota B3030
Ok, I found the thread with my topic (twice) but am lost now. So, since I could not find a clear answer I'll try a new attempt.
My Kubota B3030 runs my log splitter well enough by disconnecting the back hoe and plugging in at the rear. It's a royal pain. Need 3 hands with no room for 2.
Can I run the log splitter using the PB circuit on my LA403 loader in series? Would this present a blockage of flow when the splitter is idle?

How is your BH plumbed to the tractor? My BH is plumbed to the PB circuit already. I'm pretty sure that you'll need to have a valve on the splitter with a bypass circuit.

Guess that's my problem. I have not yet found out. Silly me, thought they were all the same.
Do I blow up the pump or plumbing if it's wrong? Or does it just not work?
This is equipped with the Kubota BH all from authorized dealer.
Am trying to male sense of the manual now.
Thanks for setting me out in a direction.
I had tried about 9 different combinations at the bucket valve. Anyone watching would have wanted to sell tickets (G). nothing splitter moved but wouldn't cut butter.

I'm confused about what the problem is. I'd certainly think your hoe is already on the PB circuit. Does your splitter not have it's own valve to control the splitter ram?

P.S. Your system is open center, so when the splitter is idle, the oil flows to the next valve in the circuit (three point hitch) as though the splitter is not there.

Sorry; The splitter works fine when plugged in instead of the back hoe.
I want to tee of the bucket hydraulics instead of all the hassle with the BH connect / re-connect.
With the 3 hydraulic lines at the bucket valve I thought it would be a piece of cake to find 2 lines to tee and make the splitter work up front.

New Approach.

Can I use the PB hose at the front loader valve with the log splitter in series?

Bob.

You cannot Tee into high pressure hydraulic lines. All valves MUST be in series. Hydraulic fluid, like electricity will "take the path of least resistance" therefor when you have it Tee'd all the flow is going to take the parallel path since it's easier that going thru the splitter.

There is no other way to hook it up, you must plug it inline with the BH hoses.

Yes, that will work. Key word(s): In Series.

Bobitybob,

Do not tee unless you have thought out this process.

If you want to use the log splitter up front, just add some QD's to the curl cyl work ports and plug in your log splitter valve in to the QD's. You will have to bungee the curl lever lever to on for this to work.

How many GPM's do you have available for the log splitter?
