I have plans to get my front end loader in the spring along with two rear remotes. This creates another issue...my trailer is going to be too short with any implement attached. So, seeing as how I can't let that stand in the way of tractor bliss, I'm also looking at trailers. My kubota dealer is also a performance trailer dealer and after looking them over, I like what I see. I am looking are the 20' car hauler style with dovetail and a gvwr of 7700#s. I would like to hear the good, bad or ugly about these trailers. So, let me have anything you've got on them!

Thanks!!

20' trailer needs to be 12,000# gvwr in my opinion. Its just too easy to overload. 7700#-say 2500# for the trailer itself only leaves 5200# for payload.

What does your tractor, FEL, and heaviest implement weigh?

What Chris said above. Don't get anything less than a 10k-14K GVWR.
Alonso, look at how long the dovetail is, if it is 3ft that means that an implement may not be contacting the deck at the back. I personally like full flat deck trailers. The only issue with full flat decks is it makes low slung cars a little more of a pain to load.

Besides that, I can't give you much help on that particular trailer make.

Well getting a 14k gvwr trailer would be great except I will need something else to pull it. I do totally understand what you and diamond pilot are saying and I will be close to the max rating. Tractor weighs around 3300# and heaviest implement is 800#. If I recall correctly, loader is going to weigh around 1200'#. That puts me at 5300. Personally, if I am going that heavy with a trailer(12-14 gvwr), I am going to get a gooseneck trailer (and another truck)!!

May need to reevaluate the 18 footer; it weighs 400#s less.

Oh, and personally, I do not want another trailer without a dovetail. Just my opinion but I do prefer it.

Okay, maybe a little additional info would help. I currently have a 2006 ford f150 singlecab 4wd. It has the 5.4l v8 with 3.73 ratio. It is rated to tow 8,200#s.

Buy the right trailer the first time. You need more truck at some point but you can get by for now with a 12K bumper pull trailer it sounds like. Dont forget to add in the weight of chains, ect. Now you are over the max and if you trade up tractors or want to take two implements as I almost always do you are screwed.

I would strongly suggest you check out Kaufman Trailers. Huge operation 200 employees they sell 15 to 20 trailers a day there, no dealer direct sales. I to also bought a goose neck but ended up with 22 tilt bumper pull. Best thing I ever bought pulls better than a few goose necks or 5th wheels I have owned. Plus you can use your bed for other stuff. I am pulling with a 3500 though.

Yea, I had a GN. Not all its cracked up to be. Loss of bed means I needed a bigger heavier trailer to make up that room and then my SUV was out of the equation when it came to towing.

I am back to bumper pull and something major would have to change for me to go back.
