I've recently purchased a 3320 and I'm interested in any performance upgrades available. I'm surprised that I haven't seen anything on here yet. Is this a niche that no one has entertained yet? Diesel trucks have aftermarket intercoolers, turbochargers, performance chips, etc... I've noticed Bully Dog offers chips for the 8000 series but nothing for the 3000 series.

A man after my own heart! (I've got a Kleemann blower on my truck /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) I checked with a local company called Xtreme Diesel Performance who are geared towards pickups. I'd imagine that when they stop laughing at my 2520 they'll get back to me. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Count me in if you can find a bolt-on turbo for my Yanmar or a hydraulic pump upgrade. I really wanted a 3720, but my yard didn't justify the sheer size of the tractor...

The turbo off of the 3520 and 3720 will fit on it. You will have to use the manifold off of one of those. The intercooler off the 3720 will also work. All of the parts are on the John Deere web sight. I am going to try a bigger turbo I got off of a cat skid steer. I also got an inter cooler for Saab car today for five dollors I am going to try it.

Are they just bolt on or does it require other engine modifications?

An easy 4% increase is possibly by switching to synthetic oil.

Fellas,

I am a Deere Dealer, and at out Altitude we routinely Turbo many units we sell. I have had extensive discussions with my Rep, and an Altitude Compentsating Turbo will not void the engine Warranty, but if you have a catastrophic engine failure with what we are discussing here, your engine Warranty could be voided.

With that said, I would make sure that whatever Turbo I used would be wastegated, and carefully checked under Boost before I used the Tractor. Remember, boost makes heat, and you may have some cooling issues. You will more than likely have to have your Injection Pump recalibrated, as your Injection system is not electronic (running a Diesel in a lean condition is not good), and, more power needs more Fuel.

Hello All, Does anyone know of a kit that will fit on as 4100? I always wanted a larger model, but did not have the property size to justify it. I am on a little over two acres now and I got a lot of leaves to pick up and a little over an acre of grass to mow, not much, but I have limited time to do ikt as I work long hours and I also teach school online, so my time is limited so I bought probabbly bigger than i needed for my last property, but now, I am looking at over an hour just to to do my cutting and that ends up longer to get set-up, then cut, then clean-up.

The 3320 has the 3tnv88 engine. The others are based on the 3tnv84. There is 4mm differnce in bore, and starting out with a higher output machine. So I can't think that the turbo componants are anything as simple as bolt on.

Saving money is great, but on a brand new $30K setup, I would be careful. I work in a Dodge store and get to see folks who have done lotsa cool things to void their Cummins 100,000 mile warranty.

If the turbo is too large you will have a slow system. It will take to long to spool the turbo up and or it will have to have to many RPMs to make the turbo work right. For them to work properly the housing as well as the impeller needs to be sized according to the output of the engine.
