Hi all,

I just ordered a Fifth Ops Perimeter alarm. I figure it might be the deterrent I need to protect my garden from deer. It's a whole bunch cheaper than any kind of fence.
It will take different kinds of blanks so that makes it easy.

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with those devices? Shop Perimeter Alarms & Other Tactical Accessories - Fith Ops

Thanks
Dave

BANG! First deer runs away, later deer get free entry.

Dang! this is the third time tonight I've had to get up, reload the blank, and restring the wire!

911? it's 3am and there's a shooting at my neighbors yard! Please hurry!

:)

Seems like a question you would ask before you bought it.

I think that the loud bang waking me up at all sorts of odd hours would not be fun. It would be terrible going back to sleep as I would be wide awake with my heart pounding. I am not sure if any garden is worth that much of my sleep.

No issues with neighbors and deer around here are always in groups. one pop and they run. Worth a try.

Not sure how loud it will be. It does take different kinds of blanks, so time will tell.

We use these to keep critters out of the garden:

They use a water spray to scare away animals.
Not for every garden but they work well for us.

I have an alarm at my gate. Never fun when a coyote sets it off at 3 am. I'm just saying living with perimeter alarms can be a PIA.
I wonder if the deer will get used to the bang over time. Or learn to step over the string ?
